Ilorin, Kwara State – Jimoh Babalola University has successfully concluded its pioneer academic session.
The University celebrates two milestones: the completion of its first academic session, and the honour of hosting Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission. During his visit, the ES described JBU’s progress as “quite impressive.” This commendation affirms that the University is on the right path. On behalf of JBU, Prof Ijaiya thanked the NUC for its guidance and support.
The Officer-in-Charge of the Vice-Chancellor’s Professor Muftau Adeniyi Ijaiya charged students to take pride in being pioneers. He thanked parents for their trust and appreciated staff for laying the foundation of quality and discipline.
He commended the pioneer students for their resilience and excellence: “You chose a young university, and you have proven that excellence has no age. Rest well during the break, and return to learn more and lead more.”
He also congratulated all students advancing to the next level.
The OIC VC recognised parents and guardians for investing in Nigeria’s future leaders.
“Great universities are built through investment,” he said. “I call on government, industries, philanthropists, and parents to invest in laboratories, scholarships, infrastructure, and research. To invest in higher education is to invest in Nigeria’s future.”
He commended staff for upholding NUC standards from day one and for entrenching a culture of quality and discipline.
The Officer in Charge of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor also thanked the Founder, Council, and all stakeholders.
“This session has shown us what is possible. However, a great university is not built in one session. It is built by continuous investment. The journey has just begun, and the best chapters are ahead of us. Thank you, and God bless you.
