​NUC Grants Operational License to Jimoh Babalola University, Ilorin

The National Universities Commission (NUC) on Friday formally presented an operational license to the newly approved Jimoh Babalola University (JBU), Ilorin.

​At the presentation ceremony held at the NUC headquarters in Abuja, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, represented by the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, FCVSN, urged the management to prioritize academic integrity. He warned that the commission would maintain a rigorous monitoring schedule to ensure the institution adheres to global best practices.

​The founder, Alhaji Jimoh Babalola, disclosed that the University will focus on two primary areas: Allied Health Sciences and Science and Computing. Programmes slated for immediate take-off include Nursing Science, Community Health Science, Public Health Science, Environmental Health Science under the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, and Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Science under the Faculty of Science and Computing.
