JBU Commences Academic Activities for the 2025/2026 Academic Session

Monday, January 19, 2026 was the day academic activities for the 2025/2026 Academic Session formally commenced at Jimoh Babalola University, Ilorin. This was as the pioneer students started receiving their first lectures of the session.

The development followed the successful completion of registration and documentation processes earlier in the month. Lecture halls across the University witnessed active participation as students engaged with their lecturers in introductory sessions, course outlines, and academic briefings designed to set the tone for the semester.

The smooth take-off of lectures reflects the University’s commitment to maintaining its academic calendar and upholding high standards of teaching and learning. Faculty members, led by the Officer-in-Charge of the Vice Chancellor’s Office, Prof. Muftau Adeniyi Ijaiya, were fully on ground to deliver course content in line with approved curricula, while students demonstrated readiness and enthusiasm for the new academic year.

Other Management Staff present included the Acting Registrar, Mr S.O. Oyebamiji; the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Dr D.S. Omotoso; and the Acting Admissions Officer, Mrs O.R. Oyerinde.

The commencement of lectures marks a significant step in the progression of the 2025/2026 session and reinforces the institution’s dedication to academic excellence, discipline, and structured learning.

Prof. Ijaiya, the Officer-in-Charge of the Vice Chancellor’s Office, encouraged the students to remain focused and be committed as academic activities commence in full glare.
