Dean of Science and Computer
DR. M. O. OLOYEDE
Muhtahir O. Oloyede, started his academic career as an Assistant lecturer in 2012 at the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin., and rose to the professorial cadre in 2024. He has served as the Head, Department of Information Technology, and the Deputy Director, Laboratory to Product Centre of the University of Ilorin.
He is a beneficiary of the Tshwane University of Technology Post-doctoral fellowship award and University of Pretoria Post-doctoral fellowship award. He has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate projects, and has held administrative positions. He has published articles in reputable journals, and conference proceedings. He is a beneficiary of several scholarships including TETFund bursary award, CSIR bursary award, Telkom SA bursary award amongst others. He has also won several grants including the 2024 NRF TETFund research grant award, and the 2024 IBR TETFund research grant award.
He is a registered member of professional bodies including Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria; Nigeria Society of Engineers; Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; and Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa. His research interests include and not limited to Artificial intelligence, Cyber security, Machine learning, Energy management systems, and Computer vision.
Science and Computing
The Faculty of Science and Computing is committed to a thorough investigation of human health, wellness, and disease prevention. This department explores the scientific principles that underpin healthcare practices, equipping students with essential knowledge and skills for impactful careers in medicine and community health. Our extensive curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and ethical practices while nurturing a strong dedication to improving lives through innovative solutions and compassionate care. Students are encouraged to tackle real-world challenges, engage in practical experiences, and collaborate with industry professionals, ensuring they are ready to make a meaningful difference in the healthcare sector.

(i) Analyzing biological, behavioral, and environmental factors that affect health.
(ii) Crafting evidence-based strategies for disease prevention and health promotion.
(iii) Advocating for policies that enhance healthcare access and minimize disparities.
(iv) Implementing management and leadership principles in healthcare environments.
(v) Leveraging data analysis and technology to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes.
(vi) Promoting interprofessional collaboration to tackle complex health issues.
