
On 5th March, 2026, the Officer-in-Charge of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Prof Muftau Adeniyi Ijaiya, led the University Management on a courtesy visit to the Zonal Office of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, in Ilorin, Kwara State. He commended JAMB for its ongoing full computerisation programme aimed at improving admission processes in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The Professor of Finance described the initiative as a significant step towards efficiency and making moderation exercise more seamless for universities across the country. He noted that the computerisation programme is a game changer that improves admission processes and gives moderators the opportunity to carry out moderation exercise from their offices instead of the old system of travelling to designated centres for the exercise. Thus, protecting moderators against dangers involved in travelling during the exercise.
Earlier in the visit, the Officer-in-Charge of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, introduced the members of the delegation which included the University Founder and Chairman of Board of Trustees, Alhaji Jimoh Kazeem Babalola, Dr Adedeji, an associate of the Founder, the University’s Acting Registrar, Mr S. O. Oyerbamiji, the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Dr D. S. Omotoso, the Acting Admission Officer, Mrs O. R. Oyerinde and the Acting Student Affairs Coordinator, Mr O. Jimoh.
Prof Ijaiya equally expressed the University’s appreciation to the Acting Zonal Director for the warm reception and acknowledged the critical roles played by JAMB in regulating and facilitating admissions into Nigerian universities.
Prof Ijaiya further outlined the purpose of the visit and provided a brief history of Jimoh Babalola University, noting that the instruction was established to expand access to quality and affordable university education and contribute to national development.
In her response, the JAMB Acting Zonal Director, Alhaja Shittu, commended the University’s Founder, Alhaji Jimoh Babalola, for his vision and commitment to advancing quality education in Kwara State and Nigeria at large. She further appreciated Professor Ijaiya and his team for their visit. She then reaffirmed JAMB’s commitment to supporting the University in its admission processes and institutional development.
The visit further strengthened the collaborative relationship Jimoh Babalola University and JAMB as both institutions continue to work together in advancing higher education in Nigeria.
